Sam Clark Carpenters Mate was originally from USS Mahan [Ms Pb. p. 79]. Lt. jg commanding the DE USS Felts dies on Tarakan Island after losing Felts during the land battle [Fs Pb. p. 203-210 & 255]. The DD USS Clark was named for him.
